The Darkness Within

There is such a darkness within me that seems to grow with me.
A darkness that bores into my being
And fills up every empty space with its foulness.
Blinding, choking.

Can you be my demon slayer?
Can the demons in your soul make friends with the ones in mine
And keep them happy so they do not gnaw upon me?
Do you have some light to spare to dilute the darkness in me?

Ask me not to name my demons or my darkness
They just are and they will be.
And sometimes I even need them.
Will you tell me that at the end
I have to battle my demons on my own?
Alone?

You know, you are lonely only till you realize you are alone.
Once you do, your solitude becomes your strength.
